WELLCOME TRUST

Wellcome Trust are aware that participation in mental health research among young people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups is lower than for other communities.

Wellcome Trust wanted us to talk to these groups to uncover their feelings, beliefs and attitudes to mental health, and identify current barriers and potential motivators to increasing their participation in mental health research.

We uncovered cultural and religious factors that could affect their mental health as well as the challenges all young people face.

The research suggested a multi-pronged approach was needed to reach and motivate these groups to get them involved.
